SUPERCONDUCTOR

Creative Research Laboratory, Austin Texas, living installation + performance, 2009

partially felted alpaca wool and silk, galvanized steel, broken instruments, video, candles, incense, feathers, tools

One in an ongoing series 'Superconductor,' inspired by the controversial  Wilhelm Reich's 'Orgone Accumulator', a device conceived to concentrate life-force energy, this structure was made by layering materials that absorb 'life-force' energy with those that can accumulate the energy. A visually and texturally visceral healing space designed for anyone to enter and decide for him or herself.  The performance ritual and meditation was a continuous 'repairing' of broken instruments.
